Hello and welcome to Camview.  My name is Gray Grantham and I am the sole proprietor of camview.us.  I have over 40 years experience in the IT industry.  I have worked for Apple Computer, MicroAge, Motorola and Gateway.  For much of the past 40 years I have worked in Technical Support positions in Tier 1 and Tier 2 Desktop Support, Network Support and Network Operations.  I hold a Master of Science Degree in Information Management Technology from University of Arkansas - Grantham Campus and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Governors University.

I am a Kansas native,  born and raised near Fort Riley.  My father was a career soldier who turned 18 in the middle of the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.  Fortunately for me and my siblings he survived

After graduating from White City High School in 1975 I spent the next 12 years in the military, serving in the US Air Force and Kansas Air National Guard from 1976 to 1982 and the US Army from 1982 till 1987.

I have worked with computer information systems since 1983 and have worked with virtually every computer system available, including Commodore, Apple, Atari, Texas Instruments, Apple Macintosh and every version of Microsoft Windows.  I have worked with Linux for a little over 20 years and while I still use Windows based PCs for some commercial applications my daily driver, is a Dell Optiplex running Linux Mint.  

I have a lifetime of IT experience that I enjoy sharing with others.  Now that I have surpassed that milestone of 65 years I have the freedom of not having to exist in a corporate climate gone mad.  Toward that end my vision for sharing my wealth of IT skills with others is through using the tools of Video Surveillance.  The current state of the art in consumer surveillance systems is truly astounding compared to the world we lived in just 20 short years ago.  The notion that you could have video surveillance cameras  disbursed all around your home, office, farm or ranch and be able to monitor and view those cameras from anywhere in the world while looking at your smartphone or tablet was previously something only the NSA had the resources to accomplish.  If you've  seen the movie Knight and Day, you get the idea.  Tom Cruise who plays a retired spook keeps a safe eye on his Mom and Dad using a private surveillance system, while traveling around the globe.

I provide consulting service as well as installation and remote technical assistance for Reolink PoE NVR Systems.  I do not support Wifi systems.  All of the systems I install use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power the cameras and tie them to the Network Video Recorder (NVR) and Router/Access Point to allow you to connect your Smartphone or tablet to the system over the Internet.
